How we travel

Lighter on the land,
closer to the local.

The places we travel through are more than a backdrop to a holiday. They are homes, communities, cultures and landscapes with stories of their own.

We don't make grand claims about changing the world through travel. We simply believe that thoughtful choices can make a journey more meaningful, for the traveller and for the places that welcome them.

These principles help guide the way we design our journeys.

01

Personal by design

We favour travel that feels personal rather than processed. Thoughtful pacing, carefully chosen experiences and smaller, more intimate arrangements often allow a destination to be experienced with greater ease and connection.

02

Guided by local knowledge

Some of the most memorable perspectives come from people who know a place intimately. Wherever appropriate, we seek out local guides, hosts and specialists who can bring context, character and a genuine sense of place to a journey.

03

A closer connection

We value experiences that create a meaningful connection with the destination, whether through an independently owned stay, a neighbourhood table, a local craft, a family tradition or simply taking the time to understand how people live. Not everything needs to be famous to be worth experiencing.

04

Travel with consideration

Every journey has an impact. We try to remain conscious of that when designing and operating our trips, considering the environment, local customs, communities and the character of the places our travellers encounter. Where sensible alternatives exist, we are happy to explore them.

Our perspective

We don't pretend to have all the answers. Our approach is simply to travel with curiosity, respect and consideration, and to keep learning from the people and places we encounter along the way.
