A Note from the Founder
I started Gallivant Journeys because I believe a truly tailor-made holiday should never begin with a package. It should begin with understanding the person who is travelling.
After more than 24 years in travel, I have learnt that designing a memorable journey is about much more than choosing luxury hotels and famous sights. Where you go matters, but so do the reasons you are travelling, the pace that feels right, the experiences that interest you, and the details that make you feel genuinely cared for.
As travel specialists in tailor-made journeys and private tours, we believe honest advice is as important as beautiful planning. If a destination does not suit you, we will say so. If the season is wrong, we will suggest another time. And if we know a quieter, more meaningful way to experience a place, we will share it with you.
For us, luxury travel is not defined simply by five-star hotels. It is having a journey thoughtfully designed around you, with personal guidance, carefully chosen experiences and dependable support from the first conversation until you return home.

“Just back from a 4 week tour of 'northern' India taylor made for us by Gallivant Journeys, Jaipur. All we can really say is WOW. Our trip took in Amritsar, McLeod Ganj, Delhi, Agra Jaipur, Bikaner, Khimsar, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur then across to Varanasi. Finished off with safari in Bandhavgar. Quite a tour around but all superbly organised by Gallivant Journeys and our contact, Saurabh. Drivers, flights, guides, hotels and entrance fees all sorted. The trip went flawlessly. Super regular contact before we arrived and daily contact when in India. The value compared to sorting the same trip through a UK company was superb. Every single intercity / state / region transfer being looked into and meticulously followed up. “I had a superb tour of Udaipur, Pushkar, Jodhpur and smaller villages between. The wide variety of places and sights made every day fascinating and exciting; from breathtaking forts and palaces to historic homestays, village life and a multitude of temples. My driver knew the area well and shared my interest in Hindu temples, stories and spiritual music, so he would stop off at random places along the way to show me places of worship, some very ancient and others more modern - all different, beautiful and interesting. Coming from Europe, I am constantly amazed and moved by how friendly and welcoming Indian people are, perhaps especially in Rajasthan. My trip included wandering round a village in the early morning and being invited in for tea by two different families - giving me an opportunity to use my very limited Hindi. I was also invited to meet my driver's family in his native village and learned to make masala chai, (he promised to teach me to milk the cow next time!). Everything was perfectly organised, including local agents meeting me at various points to make sure I was comfortable - which I invariably was in the small hotels and homestays. There is no way I could have had this variety of experience in one week by travelling independently; the local knowledge and detailed care that went into the planning made maximum use of the time available - Gallivant Journeys will be in charge of all my wanderings in India from now on!
